When Should I Change My Address with USPS?

You also don’t want to change your address and have your mail going to an address you aren’t living at yet. The best time to make this big change is 2 weeks before your move. The USPS offers you two different ways to change your address with them.
– Online: Most people have found that changing your address online is the easiest way to get the job done. You don’t have to wait in any lines and can do it from the comfort of your couch. If you are tech savvy, you may choose to go this route as well. You will need to have a valid email address to do this and pay a 1$ verification fee with your credit card to help the USPS avoid address fraud.
– In Person: If you don’t feel comfortable giving out that information online, you can always opt to change your address in person instead. You can either stay at the post office to fill out the form and turn it in or take the form home and then take it back later.
